3D Artist - Environment Artist

Responsibilities
  • Concept, Layout and design of world geometry/levels.
  • Creation of ultra high quality high and low res geometry within specified polygon budgets and constraints.
  • Creation of normal, diffuse and specular textures for use in-game.
  • Working closely with the Lead Artist, Content and Programming teams during production and implementation.
  • Estimating and maintaining timescales and deliverables.
  • Ensuring timely delivery and quality of work assigned on schedule.
Requirements
  • Thorough fluency in 3DSMAX and Photoshop.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and modelling skills.
  • Ability and patience to create stunningly realistic models from concept art or photographs down to the last detail and deliver assets on time and to schedule.
  • Good knowledge of composition, form and colour.
  • Strong grasp of UV theory and unwrapping.
  • Ability to work on own initiative.
  • Familiarity with the constraints of modelling for real-time interactive platforms.
  • Strong communication skills and comfortable with taking direction/constructive criticism.
  • Good understanding of lighting theory and atmospherics.
  • Strong understanding of game production challenges.
Desirable
  • Published and well received game title on PC or console.
  • Passion for games and the challenges of realistic modelling.
  • 3rd level qualification in a 3D modelling related discipline.
  • Background in architecture or visualisation.
