Game Designer

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for all aspects of design for an original action title for PC and next gen consoles.
  • Responsible for all game design documentation including submissions to the Publisher.
  • Contribute to creation of the game story & character descriptions, including in game dialogue & text.
  • Lead game design meetings.
  • Detail game system designs & write game dialogue.
  • Design game content - missions, level locations, NPCs, items.
  • Maintain game design documentation & create functional specs.
  • Effectively communicate the design and vision across departments.
Requirements
  • Thorough understanding of the game development process and requirements.
  • Strong creative and technical writing skills.
  • Exceptional creativity & attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skill, as well as strong interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled with MS Office, MS Project, bug tracking software, source control software.
  • Experience writing design and maintaining design documentation based on play tests, and design meetings.
  • Analytical and logical thinking ability.
  • Demonstrated skills in interface and/or systems design.
Desirable
  • 3+ years game industry experience or 2+ shipped titles.
  • 1+ years industry experience as a Game Designer.
  • Comfortable using toolsets such as Unreal ED, WorldCraft, Hammer, QERadiant, etc.
  • Experience using scripting languages to create in-game events, control AI characters, and create in-game cut scenes.
  • Basic Photoshop skills.
  • Interface design experience.
  • Previous experience as a level designer.
  • Programming experience.
  • Artistic skills.
  • Experience with 3D Studio Max/Maya
